Hiring an expert reviewer (AI/ML engineering)

About Guidely

At Guidely, we believe that:

  1. AI isn't just for engineers, it impacts us all. When we understand it, we can grow with it.
  2. Too often, though, AI is buried in overly technical lingo that shuts newcomers out.
  3. With a shift in style and perspective, even the trickiest AI topics can feel approachable.

Hi, I’m Nyior Clement, the lead author at Guidely and those beliefs come from my own journey. I’ve spent years creating technical content; so I understand this space intimately. Again and again, people have told me I have a way of making even the hardest ideas click. Now I feel very strongly about bringing that clarity into AI. The goal is simple; to open up AI so that anyone, no matter their background, can learn and grow with it. You will play a crucial role in this mission.

Responsibilities

As our Expert Reviewer, you’ll ensure that every guide we publish — whether it’s breaking down Neural Networks or showing creative ways to integrate foundation models into applications — is technically correct and grounded in real-world insights. Your expertise will allow us to stay fearless in our mission: creating a place for anyone who’s ever felt “AI is too complex.”

You will:

  • Review written content for technical accuracy across AI/ML fundamentals (e.g., neural networks, transformers, embeddings) and applied topics (prompting, RAG, agents).
  • Suggest ways to add depth to a guide during reviews
  • Share real-world insights that make each guide more engaging and relevant.
  • Overall, play a key role in setting the standard for Guidely’s long-term quality bar.

Note: Reviews will happen only as guides become available, at your own pace. There are no strict weekly or monthly hour commitments; this role is designed to be flexible and project-based.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of professional experience in ML/AI engineering
  • Hands-on experience integrating foundation models into applications, including working with AI APIs and model adaptation through prompt engineering, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), and fine-tuning.
  • You don’t just use foundation models, you understand their internals. That means you have a strong grasp of key concepts like neural networks, transformers, attention, embeddings, and evaluation metrics.
  • Proficiency with frameworks and tools such as Hugging Face, LangChain, and vector databases.
  • Strong command of the English language and an ability to provide constructive feedback.

Nice to have

  • Prior experience as a reviewer, educator, or technical writer.
  • Awareness of current trends in generative AI, multimodal models, and agent systems.

Benefits

  • $102 – $132 per hour, flexible schedule.
  • Work from anywhere in the world.

How to apply

If this sounds like a fit, we’d love to hear from you. Please email us a short note telling us a bit about your background, and why this role resonates with you — we’ll take it from there.

And if now isn’t the right time to apply, that’s perfectly fine too. You can still follow us on Linkedin and X to stay connected as Guidely grows.
